A Local Dinner

When our CSA wraps up in two weeks I intend on doing a post, but if you haven’t gathered, joining a CSA has been an awesome/incredible experience.

As I was eating last nights dinner I realized that every single thing was fresh from our CSA, except the lentils. That big mess up there is roasted squash, roasted leeks, collard greens and turnips, all on top of some lentils.

I’ve been sauteing the collard greens on the stovetop in a little bit of oil. Right before they are finished I add a little liquid smoke and maple syrup. This makes them “OMG amazing.”

On the side we had big salads with everything from our CSA. Lettuce, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage and beets. Oh my.

  1. That looks great. There is nothing better than fresh veggies.

  2. Liquid Smoke and a sweetener are MUSTS for collard greens!
