Back in the Kitchen

I hate to jinx myself, but the past two weeks have been calm. Like hella calm. Like I have ample time to myself in the evenings and on the weekends and I don’t know what to do. I hope things stay like this, and I’ve been taking advantage of the free time to make some things in the kitchen.

Last Sunday, before the Super Bowl, I made (never home) maker’s pumpkin garlic knots. This is before soaking them in tons of garlic and nooch.

And I am glad I had enough foresight to put a few away and not take them to the party, so I could eat some all to myself.

Since I already had a can of pumpkin open, and needed to use it up, I scoured the internet for some recipes. I didn’t really know what I wanted, but when I came across these pumpkin chocolate chip cookie bars from Oh, Ladycakes, I knew I had to make them.

These were a big hit and were all gone before the game ended.

Over the weekend my friend Laura mentioned a goldfish cracker recipe on Chef Chloe’s web site. The recipe is incredibly easy and fast, and I made this after work earlier this week.

I have already eaten through the entire batch, so I have plans to make them again this weekend.

uuuggghhh, i am trying to stay away from those cookies. i know they look magical, but i think only bad things will come from making them. like me eating them all right away.

  3. Wow, those look utterly fantastic. Addictive, even!

I must add that I just discovered your blog, and I’m so glad I stumbled upon it! My girlfriend is a Texas-to-Philly transplant herself (I’m a New-York-to-Philly transplant) and it’s nice to “meet” people who share our city with an outsider’s perspective. You have a gorgeous blog, your photos are so wonderful! Keep up the great work.

Love all of those edible items! I’m a big fan of the (never home) maker’s pumpkin garlic knots too (I usually make it into a pizza though). And, Oh, Ladycakes is also a favorite. Mmmm!
