The Weekend

For some reason last week felt like the longest week ever, so we opted to stay put Friday night and hang out around the house. This usually involves Eric doing bike work and me…doing nothing.

Eric had his first road race Saturday morning. The race was in Fairmount Park and I had 10 miles on the agenda, so I decided to run to the race.
When I left the house at 7am I saw people starting to filter into all the Irish bars. WHY do you need to drink so early in the morning?
Anyway, I ran a little over 5 miles to the race and watched the men’s and women’s teams.

I hung out for a while, but started to get hungry and still needed to run the 5 miles home.

It was the last weekend of winter and the weather couldn’t have been better. So after Eric’s race and some lunch we rode into center city to hang out in Rittenhouse.

The park was packed and we had a good time watching all of the drunk people in green.

After a couple of hours we rode over to Blackbird for some vegan pizza.

And I rode home with some leftovers, which is always comical.

We spent Saturday evening in a NON-Irish bar which worked out well. Enjoyed a few beers then headed home.
Stray cat Ms. White wanted to say hello. The opossum was also out and I tried to get a good photo but he got scared.

Eric raced again Sunday morning, but I stayed home and got a few things done. Later in the day we walked up to Barcade to have a beer and play some games. I don’t mind this place when it’s empty.

The best part is that I found out they carry Zapp’s Jalapeno chips. My college roommate used to eat these and then I got addicted. They can be kind of hard to find in Philly so I was surprised to see them. Best $1 I spent all day.

I had a similar pizza box setup on my rack yesterday.

Jeez, if I started drinking at 7AM, I think I’d probably be asleep (again) by noon. Those people must have been truly dedicated to partying! :)

Looks like a fun weekend, of doing things and downtime. Love the pizza box on the bike!
